STORYBOARD
This is the movie's storyboard. I know it's not in the finest of condition, but it'll help us out during the filming process. We prepared particular angle shots and camera movements for each scene in order to provide a better comprehension of our film. Each shot and movement in the film serves a function, attracting viewers and improving the overall quality of the film. It allows us to plan ahead of time how we  want the story to unfold. This is similar to the script we'll utilize when we go filming. We used a lot of tracking shots because they allow the audience to go on a real-time journey across a place with the characters onscreen.

Script:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MPE5kgmX9FsiJlHjXPsGR1OVk-clohl8QItOc8vS7nA/edit?usp=sharing

We've finally completed the script. This is a significant step forward for us because it allows us to begin developing our storyboard. Because it corresponds to our story and generates a sense of tension, we chose the title "After hours" for our film.

We had to think critically while writing the script since we needed to develop a dialogue for each character, but the way they are had to be tied to the way they speak. We chose to explain the events that take place during the movie and how these characters react to them. Giovanni, for example, uses cussed language because it is who he is and how he expresses himself. We decided to include the following in the script: "With a smirk on his face", Craig says, "Trust me Gio, it will be haha." We included the phrase "with a smirk on his face" to show the viewers that something will happen . Felipe's dialogue is simple; all he does is agree with Gio. He didn't start worried until he found out Craig had stranded them at the forest. Gio dialogue is the annoying type. Like I said Gio has the doubtful personality that annoys everyone in matter of seconds.

WEEK 3 BLOG 2 (PORTFOLIO)

 WEEK 3 BLOG 2

SHOOTING SCHEDULE

My partner Diego and I created shooting plans in order to be more organized while filming our video. We will begin next week. A shooting schedule is essential because it ensures that each member of the film crew understands what he or she is responsible for in the context of the entire movie. We'll meet with each crew member a week before shooting to let them know when we'll be shooting. To sum it up, the following is the shooting schedule.

*Saturday, March 5th from 1pm until 4pm

*Sunday, March 6th from 12pm until 3pm

*Saturday, March 12th from 2pm until 5pm

*Sunday, March 13th from 2pm until 4pm

The purpose of the schedule is to mirror the story's environmental features. We started shooting earlier on the first two days since the sun lends a sense of innocence and relaxation to the plot. The last two days of filming were delayed due to a shortage of sunlight, and this is where the story becomes scarier and darker.

 WEEK 3 BLOG 1

                                    CHARACTERS

Character 1

Craig is the villain of the story. He had a hidden past of crime  and abuse and quickly changed his identity and moved to Florida to be a tour guy. His friends all believe that he is normal guy but while they are biking in the woods Craig has the intention to leave them stranded there.

Character 2

Felipe. He is always with Craig they are technically best friends. They are always with each other. Felipe trusted him with all his heart. He would follow Craig everywhere. They became really close during a short period of time.

Character 3

Giovanni: Giovanni is the annoying friend. He is always playing around. But Giovanni's doubtful mentality will  create tension in the story. Craig and Giovanni  are only friends because they have mutual friends but in reality Craig pretends he likes him when he doesn't.

These are the three main characters of our story and each one of them fulfill a purpose that throughout the story will create tension and will make the story more significant. Each character has a super important role. Its character vs character, but nature still plays a role of conflict in the story.

WEEK 2 BLOG 4 (PORTFOLIO)

WEEK 2 BLOG 4

After conducting research, brainstorming, and receiving assistance from our teacher, we now have a vision and know what our story will be about. We've got the whole story. Allow me to describe the plot of the narrative to you.

plot

Three friends are introduced at the beginning of the film. The three colleagues are set to start on a forest bike ride. One of the friends intends to leave the other two friends stranded in the woods. But how did they get up lost in the woods? The character who will abandon the stranded is like the "tour guide," and he knows the area better than the other two friends. He told everyone to give up their phones and "enjoy the moment." We included this in our film because we wanted it to be a character vs. character story with a part of nature. When the friend has their phone, he tosses it into a bush without the other two noticing. They begin biking, and the friend with bad intents follows them and instructs them to turn left when he goes right. The two friends turn right, and as they accelerate, they discover their friend has abandoned them. They end up lost in the woods, terrified and stressed. They eventually build a campfire and go to \bed. Hoping they can get out.

We believe our film to be a drama/suspense, which we enjoy since it will frighten the audience to find out what happens to the friends, as well as drama because the friend abandons them in the woods. The audience will be surprised by what happens since they will not have expected it. Because there aren't many films about this topic, this movie will appeal to a wide audience. I hope you enjoy the story as much as we did. We're going to make the best film ever!!!

WEEK 2 BLOG 3 (Portfolio)

 WEEK 2 BLOG 3

We decided to seek comments from our teacher now that we have a solid plan. She provided us some advice after we told her our story. First and foremost, she stated that the story needed to be more clear as to why and how bikers became lost in the woods. We started thinking about how we might make that happen, and we came up with the idea that the bikers get lost because they are following a "tour guy" who is evil and leaves them stranded in the woods on purpose. There is a famous park in our hometown named "Markham Park" that serves as the stage set for our story.

Here is a picture of the park.

We're now gathering data into how genre dramas attract audiences and how we can make this project spectacular. We're both aware that sound is crucial in this genre of film. We want sound to be a key part of this movie since it helps to build emotion and set the tone. For this project, the next stage is to start thinking dialogue and characters. We're putting a lot of thought into the dialogue and characters because they're both important in the movie. That concludes today's blog. When the dialogue and characters are finished, I'll let you know!!!!!!!

WEEK 2 BLOG 2 (PORTFOLIO)

 WEEK 2 BLOG 2

Diego and I finally decided what we are going to do. We decided that we are doing our project with the corresponding genre drama. We were brainstorming  and landed on an amazing idea. Hear this out. Imagine a hiker gets lost in the woods. We then started thinking what movies' are somehow the same and we found a movie called "127 Hours". This movie is about a hiker that goes through mountains and falls. This pitch could be really good because we could use various camera techniques, movements. For example, hand held camera, forced perspective, flashbacks, montages, slow motion, point-of-view shots,  and sound.

Here is photo of the movie "127 hours"

Since we already have an idea we will start researching about this movie and genre. I promise you guys this project will come out amazing!!. We are looking to see what place could be perfect for this idea and we will come up with the whole storyline soon. We are just brainstorming for now.

WEEK 2 PROJECT

Today was the first day I sat down with my teammate Diego Salaverria to discuss about the project. To be honest we are both really overwhelmed because theres so many stuff to do. Its crazy!!!!!! .                       While we were in class we talked and discuss what genre we were going to work. What we did is that we found a picture of every genre and we started selecting which genres were the best. For example, we selected a few like Adventure, drama, comedy. From there we were thinking which one was better. It indeed took us a long time.

Here is the picture.

After 15 minutes we were between two; drama and comedy. We have not decide which one we doing but we looked at examples of drama and comedy movies to see which genre was better. We still not sure on what genre to choose. I will keep you guys updated when we do.

WEEK 1 (PORTFOLIO)

Portfolio WEEK 1

Three days ago I was informed that I had a huge project coming up. I am currently pretty stressed about it because I have to use everything I learned this year. For example, camera techniques, movements, editing, etc. I have mixed feelings about this project Im stressed and excited at the same time it is weird.

My initial plans for this project it is basic it is knowing who Im working with if not alone and what genre to choose that I like and its easy to work with.  After some consideration I decided to work with Diego Salaverria a school partner since we have the same ideas and interest. We still trying to figure out what genre we want but we currently thinking on creating a short film about "never giving up" or "hard work pays off". We still thinking about it. I will keep you guys updated when we find what genre we want to do.  Overall, Im pretty excited to start this project.

Music Marketing Blog Post #2

Claudio Jimenez P-2

The project overall was very challenging for each one of my team members including me. First of all, we got the genre country and that was more challenging because none of us knew nothing about country music and its genre. We were all lost so we started from scratch. As a team we created two case studies about country  music and what companies are in that genre and what artist/bands are famous in its genre. We learned so much about how each artist distributes and market its song and overall we learn about the country genre that  eventually helped us a lot throughout our whole project. I believe the two case studies were our base for the project and thats why we put a lot of effort and research to do each case study.

After the two case studies we decided to brainstorm and plan what was next for our band, this took us so much time because we had to come up with the best distribution plan, marketing plan, and ideas so the band could attract audience. We started little by little, we first came up with our band name which was called "Weston Cowboys" because it is an unusual name and it shows the audience that our music it is country music. Then, we came up with the best ideas where we could distribute our music. We brainstorm and brainstorm and decided to promote our music through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We used this three applications to distribute our band/music because our targeted audience is around 18-49. Every person that is older than 30 uses Facebook, Twitter all the time and 30 and above uses Instagram. It was perfect to promote our band. We also utilized Spotify, Pandora, YouTube to distribute our music through all social medias.

Then we had to plan on how our band can expand and get more audience. We though a lot and decided to create a Website and Merchandise. By creating a website our fans could check information about us, when we are performing, they could contact us, check our socials, and buy our merchandise. The website was one of the best ideas my team and I came up with. It took us some time to create merchandise because we had to come up with designs that could fit our band and that the audience could like. Merchandise was created to promote our band and to have a deeper relationship with our bands.

Example-

The hardest part of our project was the music video. The production, planning, brainstorm of it was really hard because we had to come up with a music video that could engage audience and that is entertaining to watch. We took a lot of time thinking on what to do but we finally decided to go to a ranch since it matched with our genre. Then, we had to come up with a storyline and come up with the best camera techniques, movements, editing to create the best music video. After a long time we finally created a music video that indeed engaged with audience. During the presentation my team and I were prepared since we talked before and we all knew exactly what we had to do.

Finally, I learned a lot about this project. First of all I learned about country music.  I listened to some amazing songs that I would've never listen too if it wasn't for this project. I learn how difficult and long is the process of creating a band and all you have to do to make it possible. But mainly I learned that hard work pays off and that if you do not stop working you'll be successful. I learned on how to create a storyline, promote music, and most important on how to come up and create the best music video. This project will help me with my Cambridge Portfolio because I know exactly what I have to do and how I can create a video that can attract and entertain people. I learned that there are several factors to create a music video and that it takes a lot of planning and brainstorming.
