 Postcard advertisement

Remember how I told you guys that I had no idea what a postcard advertisement was, despite the fact that it was a crucial component of my project? I now know that it is essentially a poster encouraging people to watch my movie. Here's an illustration.

I had the idea that my poster would simply be black and white, or maybe gray, to emphasize the character's isolation. Grey frequently has a bad reputation, especially when it comes to depression and bereavement. Grey goes perfectly with white and black because of this. The main character leaving his town would be depicted on the real poster, in my opinion. the community where no one knows who he is. The main message is that he is giving up because of all his conflicting feelings. Naturally, I'll include the title on the postcard. I'm not sure what else I'll add or what the font or color of those few words will be.I also need to determine the ideal size before I can begin developing it. To make the postcard, I'll use the program "Canva." This is an image showing how Canva appears. Canva is a great tool and simple to use.

 More

n

After completing my brainstorming and preparing my short video for recording, I must now begin to plan and create the digital component. I need to create a website and a postcard advertisement, as I mentioned in my previous article. I'll soon start building the website. I considered adding the page to this website.

The greatest location for making the page is right here. Also, I considered creating a simple Instagram account where I could promote all the material, including trailers and teasers. I think more people will view the account than visit a website because so many people today use technology. A page could be made by me on one of these platforms.

I also need to think of a title for my short movie. I had "Lost" in mind, but I'm still unsure if I need to rethink and come up with other ideas. Naturally, I'll discuss it with my teacher. In my future blog, I'll give you guys an update on the postcard advertisement.

 Finalizing story

I'll complete writing my entire story in my blog. As soon as I start filming, I'll start gathering the appropriate props, characters, and tools. There will be about 3 primary characters throughout the story. The best friend, the girlfriend, and the man who no one remembers. The majority of the movie, the marketing, and social media will feature these 3 characters. Since there are fewer people throughout the night, it will mostly take place in my town. After he goes for the hospital and passes out, that is when the story's main conflict occurs. That will take place in the opening minute. The rest of the movie will center on how when he returns to town, his girlfriend and best buddy don't recognize him. He'll be anxious and perplexed. He will, however, recall giving his best friend a bracelet when he was a young boy. When he discovers the bracelet, he returns to his friend right away, but the best friend will not remember him when he believed everything was finished. He will always be forgotten.

Whenever I begin filming, there will undoubtedly be some adjustments, but you guys already know the story. It has some conflict, grief, and suspense. This is ideal since it will keep the audience entertained and on their feet. I considered recruiting a bunch of people for my movie. Hire the actors (I will be one of them). Hire some spaces, and ask relatives of mine for advice. they are in the motion picture industry. They make movies, so any advice they can provide me would be greatly appreciated.  Whilst I must now concentrate on the project's digital component, I must admit that I am genuinely very excited. The social media page is the least of my concerns because I have experience building websites and am rather confident in its ability. Finally, the "postcard advertisement" for the final section is the most difficult since, to be completely honest, I have no idea how to execute it. Next class, I'll question my teacher.

 continue research on project components

I ultimately made the decision to make my short film about "A man returns to his hometown only to discover that no one remembers him" after much deliberation. I have so much more freedom to maneuver, and I think this will turn out better. My town is lovely, and everything will come together. As this is a suspense genre, I need to have everything ready for an amazing movie. Strong characters, a conflict or challenge, pacing, high stakes, atmosphere, foreshadowing, and red herrings are all things I need in a story. The best suspense movie ever will include these seven essential elements. In all honesty, there are no movies with the same subject. Because I can do this in every scenario, it is actually better. I am ready to start filming this.

I need to purchase a quality camera in order to record this movie because I do not want to utilize my phone to do so. I'm lucky that one of my closest friends is a photographer because she's lending me her camera. This camera's excellent quality will be very helpful to me.

To prevent shaky footage, I must also ask my teacher for a tripod. Given that my teacher has many tripods, I will probably ask her for one. But, changing the subject, I am extremely stressed out because I am working alone and must complete a short film as well as two additional components. It will be a protracted trip. I am also under a lot of stress because I am not very good at editing; I need to study YouTube videos to improve.

WEEK 1 BLOG 4

 More to plan`

Like I said to you folks, I am aware of a location where I can record the movie. Town center is the name of the pace. In my town, the town center is where people go to dine and hang out, primarily to spend time with their families. There are numerous restaurants, lighting, and a beautiful ambiance. Going at night, when it's generally empty, was what I was considering. I'm getting ahead of myself, though. I'm just doing research right now. I want to check with my teacher to make sure this issue is appropriate. I'll begin developing speech, characters, and everything once she gives her consent. Just going to watch some movies on it. Next week, I'll give you all an update.

Here is a picture of Town center

WEEK 1 BLOG 3

A man returns to his hometown only to discover that no one remembers him.

There are numerous ways I may approach this subject. I'm not comfortable enough with the horror genre to accomplish it, so I don't want to. Suspense seems to be the best genre for this, in my opinion. I anticipated that the movie would open with a day in the life of a boy. He went to practice or play a sport when it was dark, but someone slapped him in the face, and he immediately passed out. He had to travel out of town for medical attention because the accident was so severe. A few months later, he makes a surprise visit, but when he enters his parents' home, they don't recognize him because all the images were of his sister and not him. Then he starts talking to people as he walks about the city. I considered making montages of him yelling and interacting with everyone.

This idea could be really really amazing. I also really like the suspense genre. I am pretty comfortable with it.

My main concern is that I have to make it appear as though he has severe injuries, which can be challenging. I must begin doing some research into the accident. It must be a plausible accident that demonstrates his terrible character. I would also need to hire numerous actors. That will be difficult, but not impossible. I actually have the ideal location to capture this. In the following blog, I will describe the location.

 MOVIE EXAMPLES

As I was so interested in the subject of "two strangers stuck in an elevator," I sought out some cinematic examples that might help me understand the movie's plot. Others warned me that the movie may be tedious because it exclusively features scenes in elevators, but I reasoned that the opening minutes might take place outside the elevator and provide context for the characters' use of the elevator. I considered turning it into a love story. This is a movie that is comparable to this one.

Stuck with You

En route to a party, two strangers get stuck in an elevator on New Year's Eve — and find themselves connecting in unexpected ways.

For the rest of the topics my teacher gave me a couple of movies example that could help me. The first example is called "Orphan Black". This will help me if I want to do the Doppelgänger topic.

The other movie example is called "Big Fish"

WEEK 1 BLOG 1

 Genre/ Examples of movies/Brainstorming

I mentioned in the previous blog that I intended to make a thriller or romance movie, but I now understand that I need to do so much more study that there may be even better ideas. These are a few. As you can see, each genre is different. I'll be doing study on each genre to see which I prefer. The movie "Two individuals are stranded in an elevator" is the one I want to see since it combines comedy and romance.Since I know more about the romance genre, I feel more confident using it. My teacher and I also spoke, and she was quite helpful. She provided me with some guidance. She gave me a suggestion that I adored; she suggested that the movie be made in Spanish because I am much more at ease speaking that tongue. I've given it some serious thought. Finding identical twins is incredibly difficult, therefore that is my final resort for the "doppelgänger" concept.

2. A man returns to his hometown only to discover that no one remembers him.

4. A woman discovers their doppelgänger.

3. An Uber ride gone wrong.

  1. Two people are stuck in an elevator together.

BLOG #2 MEDIA A

Developing full film plot

Since I am in between two genres, I will share with you both of the narratives for each. It's only a draft.

Romance

I imagined that the romantic movie would begin with two young children who live next door to one another. They are essentially neighbors. They share the same schools, the same bus, and in some ways, the same light, yet they are unaware that they are doing the same thing. Up until the day they all walked to school together. Then, every day after school, I would make montages of kids singing, dancing, and playing. They begin by becoming close friends. The male didn't tell the girl he loved her until one day, but when he did, she promptly rejected him because she just saw him as a friend. Years later, the boy moves, and the girl realizes she is in love with him at that very time. Despite this realization, she believes she will never see the boy again. Years later, they reconnected at a restaurant, caught up, and began dating. They were destined to be with one another.

Suspense

I want to do something with the theme of "An Uber ride gone wrong" for the suspense plot. I think this story has incredible potential. A group of youngsters are having a good time at a party when one of the guys decides to call an Uber. However, he believed he was getting into an Uber when in fact he was getting into someone else's car since he was disoriented and dejected in the middle of the street. He then finds he was in the incorrect automobile once he got inside. He collapses after starting to panic. He wakes up in a dark environment. He was being kidnapped, and the narrative will go on to describe how he managed to escape.

 Choosing the Genre/Project

We have returned at last! another incredible project in the second year. Due to the fact that this is my final year of high school and I want to test my abilities, I think I will do this project on my own. After weighing my options, I'll go with the five-minute film. As a result of our two years of practice, I am unquestionably more at ease with that. I have a lot of research to do, but it will be fantastic in the end. I had romance or suspense in mind for the genre. Although they are frequently corny, the messages they convey are excellent. Here are both of the previously mentioned genres as examples. I honestly have no idea which one I'll pick, but I must decide quickly because I need to start thinking of a plot. Given how challenging this endeavor would be, I cannot wait to get started. Although there is a lot to do, it takes time. Although I am leaning more toward the suspense genre, I will develop ideas for both and then decide which one works best.
